He Hath Made Everything Beautiful In It's Time

 Ecclesiastes 3:11 — KJV

“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time…”

When we look at a beautiful vase of flowers, we see the finished product. We don't usually think about everything that had to happen before that vase of flowers was created.

Somebody had to make the vase. Someone had to plant the seeds and water the flowers. There had to be pruning and tending along the way. And it took craftsmanship and time to create the vase that holds them.

The things we're believing God for can take time too.

Everything has a season, and God knows when the time is right.

Ecclesiastes 3 tells us that life has seasons. There is “a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” Then, in verse 11, we are told:

“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time.”

One of the hardest things about trusting God is that His time isn't always our time.

We pray for something, and we want the answer now. We may wonder why a situation hasn't changed, why a prayer hasn't been answered the way we expected, or why we're still walking through a difficult season.

But sometimes God is doing work that we cannot yet see.

We have a habit of looking at our situations before God is done. We look at where we are right now and think, “God, this isn't how I thought my life would look. When are things ever going to change? Is it going to be like this forever?”

But we're looking at an unfinished picture.

God sees things that we cannot see. He sees the beginning and the end. Our responsibility is to keep trusting Him, even during the seasons we don't understand.

And we don't need to look at someone else's life and wonder why their blessing came before ours.

God knows our season.

He knows when to plant.
He knows when to grow.
And He knows when it's time for something to bloom.

So as we paint these flowers tonight, let them remind us:

Don't become discouraged because something hasn't bloomed yet.

Keep trusting God.
Keep praying.
Keep growing.

And remember:

God is still working on our picture.

Closing Thought

Don't judge what God is doing by an unfinished season.

“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11
